Good morning everyone. It's been a while since I posted on mylot. I was wanting to get caught up which I have to some extent. I've missed writing as I always seem to have something to say Over the weekend, I was going to have some pictures made at Walgreens. Well, their program pulled pictures from everywhere and up popped pictures of Bella that I forgot about. They were in google pictures. It caught me by surprise and I started crying my heart out. This is the first time I have looked at pictures of Bella since she passed away. Some of her pictures are above. I still want to cry looking at her pictures, but its getting better. It will be 6 months at the end of this month since she passed. I had pictures made of her and Daisy. We now have pictures of them in the living room and I have a picture of Bella on my desk.

Thank you, Anna! I'm glad I can look at the pictures now too. Sometimes I'm okay and can smile. Other times I tear up.

Thank you Jeff, and yes, I do miss her horribly. It's better than it was in the beginning but its still hard. I'm happy that I can look at her pictures now and smile even though I am crying. I couldn't do that a month ago.

@moffittjc Yes, this is true. It just doesn't seem like it's been 6 months already. One thing that is hard for me to get past is wondering if I did something to cause her to have heart failure. Did I drop a pill and did she get a hold of it? Most of the time, I can push it out of my mind. Every once in a while, like now, it comes back.

@simone10 Things will get better with time. You'll always carry her memories in your heart, and now you'll also have photos to look at.

It does hurt to see our pets' little faces for the first time, but it brings back precious memories. I'm so happy you now have photos of Bella and Daisy to enjoy.. Bella was a beautiful girl.

Yes, it does bring back precious memories. It's like I cry while I am smiling if that makes any sense. I'm getting better at seeing her pictures and not crying but it is like a little stab in my heart.

@DianneN I think so too, if we ever really do. I don't know if I will ever not want to tear up when I think of her or see her picture. Also, I can't help but wonder if it was something that I did or didn't do that caused her to have heart failure. I take a lot of pills and I wonder, did I drop one, and she found it? I try not to think about it but everyone once in a while, that thought creeps back in.

@DocAndersen Yes, she was very good at that. She was very territorial and that's one of the reasons she barked so much. Now Daisy is a different story. She runs and hides

It's hard to deal with loss for quite a while, I lost Mykey in 2015 and I'm just now getting comfortable sharing his pictures.

It is hard to deal with. I think about her every day and sometimes I cry and sometimes I just choke up. Every once in a while I cry like I did when she first passed. I get comfort in knowing that I will see her again one day.

@simone10 Our dog, Nayla, was laid to rest 11 years ago, and quite often I will say good night to her. I still miss her and cannot bring myself to have another dog because it would not be fair.

@Juliaacv I know how you feel. I keep thinking about getting another dog for Daisy but I keep talking myself out of it because I feel like it wouldn't be fair to Bella's memory. Plus I'm 64 and my brother has health issues so if we were both gone, who would I leave another dog to?

Thanks and she was a part of our family. Bella had such a big personality and that's partly why it's been so hard for me. The apartment was so quiet after she was gone. It was almost unbearable.

@gr8nana6 I would love to have a cat but my brother is allergic. We have thought about getting another dog so Daisy would have company but I'm not sure if I'm ready yet.

It has been very sad to lose Bella. I know this may sound silly saying this about a dog, but she was my best friend. I miss her every day. The pictures do make me smile as I remember when they were taken. I have a video of her barking which she was famous for...lol. It's a little harder to see the video but I still smile through my tears.

I found this : I hope it helps you.
How do you cope with the loss of a pet? Some people assume pet grief hurts less than human grief, but they couldn’t be more mistaken. There’s a poem I wanted to share that can help you mourn the loss of a pet. It's called The Rainbow Bridge Poem...

It's so hard to lose our pet friends. I opted to get less memories on Facebook because pictures of the sweet cockatiel I lost kept popping up. I didn't want to look at pictures of her yet. Same thing starts happening with people, too. I'm so sorry for your loss.
