Disregard everything which was written before as it is

a new day. Nothing has been more eye opening to me than this pandemic period. It has been a time of confusion. We listened to the medical professionals, the scientists, the political figures and the average Joe. We thought what we heard was the truth. At least of some it. Now we are hearing something completely different. Well in the beginning they did tell us that they didn't know much about .......... that is what they said, they didn't know.

We hope so, so that things return to normal. Though I am not sure there will be enough advance in what we are going to need?

I just listen to Dr. Tony Fauchi. He's the only one who makes sense.

@mynameiskate I'm just staying away from others, social distancing, wearing a mask when out and about, washing my hands frequently, and sanitizing everything that comes into my home until a safe and effective vaccine is made. Our leadership sucks, so I'm using my own intellect. Herd immunity did nothing for the common cold, so only time will tell.

@DianneN I came from Spiky the Awful, a Viking who murdered, stole and raped helpless people. That was generations ago and my family offspring produced various cultures until I came into being. A gentle lovely person that wouldn't hurt a fly but curses now and then. It did take a few hundred years though to weed out the nasty. Virus's produce new virus's in less time than that. Who knows? I don't. But if somewhere down the line the virus family of Mr Meany Covid gives birth to another family we will call Miss Mutant Annoying and its severity is that of a common cold, I'll be happier than now. Mind you, I suppose people with immunity problems could still perish even from a really bad cold.

Yes and no. Doctors want to advise and not make decisions for others. Although he makes sense to me too he seems to me to be inhibited by how he would like to explain something. Of course the basics are the same wash your hands and don't kiss strangers. I don't think he said that last one. :) I do think its so political even for him that everything said needs to be filtered a little. I got in the past they did say it was going to change. The virus, crowd immunity, we can and all the do this do that the politics, the laws will change too I suspect. Change to what though. Guess we have to wait and see.

I used to believe that health officials were in charge of health issues. Obviously not. Someone who knows less than I do about these things is.

It was as new to the scientists and doctors as it was to us--as they found out things they told us and we of course have to fight them--what is the big deal about wearing a mask??? ARGH!!

The only thing I know is it's not over yet. They haven't found the vaccine yet. I don't listen to anyone because they are only guessing at this time.

@mynameiskate I agree. Nature does have a way of working things out. I think it was time for nature to act. I don't see a vaccine happening very soon.

I've been trying to learn something about virus's and how they behave but I reach a point where I think I'm learning to be a health professional which I am not. In high school biology was not one of my favorite subjects and in the end all you really need to know is wash your hands, protect yourself etc. Don't want to sour your hopes but some say a vaccine might not be viable but we wait and see. There is good news though. Nature has a way of looking after things.

@just4him I'm hoping these virus's going around will mutate and our bodies get to know them so they will not be so dangerous.

I stick to the info from Alberta's Chief Medical Officer. Yes, it has changed over the course of the pandemic, but her explanations make sense. Following her recommendations have kept me healthy.

What is he/she saying now? Yes, the basics, wash and stay away from people makes complete sense to me. But I swear somehow without seeming to be like an out of control rebellious social misfit might buy and wear a tee-shirt that reads "I need a hug".

Of all the recent viruses this one has become the worst. Similar to the Black Plague (although that disease killed from 75 million-200 million people) both diseases changed how we needed to live. Social distancing and quarantines stopped that pandemic and we are trying to do the same now with this one (along with wearing masks.) If only people would listen to the guidelines it would stop the spread of this deadly disease.

From what I understand the best course would be isolation. Complete isolation. Those with an active disease not released until they are fully recovered and not contagious. Everyone else who is not showing any sign of the disease 14 days. Even if the whole world stayed isolated for 30 days then there would be no carriers right? Sounds good but I'm told it wouldn't work or could it be managed.
