is hunting a sport?

heres my logic toward it... In a sport each team has an equal chance of winning the same thing. ie in football both teams have a chance of winning and achieving the same goal - victory. however in hunting there is no winning and losing. There is either (lets say a deer) gets shot dead, or gets away and lives to be shot again the next day. Now for those of you who say that that is a sense of winning and losing, i ask what has the deer won? nothing. Now if the deer had a shot gun to shoot you with i would agree hunting is a sport... but being that deers do not have thumbs this is not possible lol.

You've never been to a hunting competition have you? The largest deer can rake in some big bucks. It's like fishing, or hot dog eating contests (don't ask, it just poped into my head)

I completely agree with you. I remember once my mom told that I don't know who suggested that the hunters should just take pictures of the animals, and not shoot them. The hunter came up with some weak excuses because of course there was nothing they could answer to that other than they just enjoy killing animals, and it has nothing to do with sports. I think the animals need to have rights, and hunting should be forbidden.
