A New Hobby Maybe??

When I was in High School, which was a long time ago, I had a class where we were required to sew. At first I didn't like the idea because it seemed boring and tedious. But when I started I really started to enjoy it, and I found out that I was pretty good at it. My parents bought me my own sewing machine ( yeah I know lucky me ) and I started making some really cute clothes and designs. Some time passed by and I gradually got disinterested in the sewing. That happens when you are in your teenage years and it seems the world is at your feet. But now being at my age ( Not gonna tell ) You start to appreciate the many good things in your life. Well, long story short, I would really like to start sewing again as a hobby. And it can really benefit the family. I mean clothes, and such while I get to do what I really like. How many of you want to start a hobby that you think others will see silly or worthless? Photo Credit: Pixabay

@djbrat13 I am a programmer myself and I understand the need for creativity to solve real life problems.

I had a home economics class in 9th grade where seeing was required. My aunt helped me with more technical things like putting in zippers and making buttonholes. I made some cute clothes for high school, college, and my honeymoon. Never made anything again except Halloween costumes for my kids when they were little. I didn't think it was silly or worthless. I did a bit on quilting, too.

@djbrat13 I learned how to knit, but couldn't end it. It's a moot point since we usually spend our winters in Florida. lol My DIL took classes and is an awesome knitter. I'd rather just buy things.

I always thought the zippers and buttonholes were a little tricky too. I would love to learn how to quilt. My mom tried to teach me to crochet a few years ago and I couldn't get the hang of it. Maybe I'll try again.

If we know what makes us happy we would never stop doing it.
