My 8 year old is going to start his school year with a messed up face. The poor kid hit his sister with his bike, then while trying to keep from falling he trips over his own bike falling to the concrete side walk face and hands first. I saw him coming running home covering his mouth. I new the second I saw him running like that, he was hurt. By the time I got to the door I could hear him crying and saying “I’m bleeding and my teeth hurt!” I took me forever to get him to show me. One of the kids ran to there mom she is a nurse and she poked her head into the house asking if I need help and if my son would show her. But he wasn’t having it with any of us. I texted his dad know he was at work but telling him what happened. He called me asking if I need him to come home and I handed my older the phone to talk to her dad because my phone doesn’t work well in the house. I clearly need he didn’t need an ambulance but possibly a doctor. After his dad came in, he finally shows me. He has two cuts on his lips, one broken tooth that I could see. He has some scraps on his hands, and arms. His dad took him to the ER they cleaned his up checked his head and made sure he didn’t break any bones that they need to look at it. They said to go to the oral surgeon tomorrow and they have our number already to call us first thing in the morning. They made sure we had there number as well Incase we miss there call or don’t hear from us. We also have to fallow up with his regular pediatrician. Once we take him to have his mouth looked out we will know more about what is going on in his mouth. We are to expect bruises and some swelling in the next few days. Over all he is okay and can’t have anything that isn’t liquid right now.

@piyushbhatia1 for him not to get hurt the kid has a lot of anxiety which is hard to deal with when he is hurt and blessing. He doesn’t like blood, he doesn’t like doctors. They both trigger an anxiety attack that triggers stress which isn’t good when your trying to help someone. There isn’t a right away to get hurt or a wrong why to get hurt. But that doesn’t mean because he is a kid that he will always get physically hurt.

No this isn’t part of growing up. Getting hurt yes but getting hurt breaking a tooth, losing a tooth, getting road rash isn’t part of growing up.

He is seeing the doctor he doesn’t taken to be in any pain. I’m sure it’ll take a few weeks for the bruises to go away.

@amitkokiladitya it does but it’s not just his mouth. Teeth don’t heal. He might need a replacement tooth not sure yet till the doctor exams him and does some picture. He also has a lot of road rash several to his face that he can’t cover.

Looks a bit serious with your son. Although it is quite common at this age to get tumbled over the bike and get hurt.

@ShyBear88 Appears he had a fall on his face and helmet might not have helped.

More like sound bad since I don’t have a picture of it. It would have been a lot worse if he had his helmet on. This is one of those times it was better off the one or else he wouldn’t hit a lot harder then he did.

Ugh, poor kid. I know how bad it can be, having gone through similar experiences myself. I hope he is going to be okay.

Today he was good. He didn’t want to have liquids all day but we told him we would know more after his appointment.

@ShyBear88 One of the nice things about kids is that they tend to heal fast. I wish him the best of luck in his recovery.

@Michellekidwell crossing figures. I’m hoping that the tooth that got knocked out was a baby tooth.
