I always laugh when people say that Bali is a country, when they ask "where are you from?" I answered "Indonesia" they are confused, and say "where is Indonesia? is there on the African continent?" I just sighed ... Dam said "do you know Bali?" finally he realized and said "oh I know ... Indonesia is in Bali right?" lol

Don't take it to heart. You find stupid and/or uninformed people everywhere. I'm German. The fact that Germany was divided after the Second World War into the German Democratic Republic (the former Soviet sector) and the Federal Republic of Germany (the former American, British and French sectors combined) and then reunited again in 1990 is too much for many people.

My Aunt lives in Bali too!! But this is so true. One time I told someone I was Lao and typically people don’t know where Laos is so I just say it’s right next to Thailand. This girl looked at me clueless and was like I’m not sure where that is. I was flabbergasted lol!
