What's your take on dieting and exercising?

So I never used to believe in dieting. Exercise I do plenty of since forever... A few years ago, around 9 years ago, I should think...I started picking up a lot of weight, felt really depressed, and my skin became terrible with acne and marks...I went to a dermatologist who kept making me buy expensive face wash and creams and none of that helped me.... I shouldn't eat a lot and used to excerise quite regularly so I didn't understand why all of this was happening. One day I went to the gynie with my aunt for her check up. She was having a baby. The gynie took one look at me and diagnosed me with PCOS. I took the pills she gave for 3 years and nothing changed. At the end of the 3rd year I told her I hate the pills, it's ineffective, can we try something else. She told me about the option of dieting but said it's tough and she doesn't recommend it because most ladies with PCOS fail with that option. I insisted and went on the diet option because quiet frankly I was sick of taking pills everyday... Within a month I lost all the extra weight and my skin cleared up to perfection. I had never dieted before but I did it strictly by the rules and it worked amazingly. To think of suffered all those years when I could have done this in the beginning! Has a diet ever worked miracles for you? Do you think diets and exercise go together?

I never limit my food intake nor been conscious with the food I ate except for pork (religious reason). My problem was gaining weight and not losing weight so I stuffed myself with all sorts of food to gain weight. Lots of carbo and sugar. One thing I noticed though is that green tea does wonders to my skin. So I always drink them.

No..I have never followed a diet because it is tough for me to stay clinged to it. And weight comes back super fast when we restart eating

I tried going on a diet which was sometime years ago but somehow it was so difficult. I couldn’t continue dieting. Diet requires discipline and patience. I would rather eat something without restrictions the rest is just exercise.

As for me, I don't need to diet, in fact I need to eat more so I' m not skinny now, but it's always good and urgent to do some exercises. I think they don't always go together then.

Exercise is required not only to get fit but also to burn unwanted and unnecessary calories in the body. So, its better, you exercise regularly and exercise a lil more, if you have taken more diet.
