Tonight was the night of the first of three debates between incumbent Donald Trump and Democratic nominee former Vice President Joe Biden. I don't think anyone expected Trump to act "presidential", after all he hasn't done so yet after nearly four years living in our White House, but nobody expected anything quite like what we got. Brian Williams called it "dark". Rachel Maddow made reference to having been on a different planet. President Obama's Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said we can't have two more of these and for RNC Chairman and current member of the Lincoln Project Michael Steele said that's enough, all we need to do now is vote. VOTE. I guess we shouldn't have expected a man who either pays no income taxes or a measly $750, far less than a typical American worker, to follow the debate rules that both campaigns had agreed to, right? He spoke out of turn constantly, most ly telling his usual lies or bragging about his imagined accomplishments. It didn't go at all as planned, needless to say, but Biden did manage to get a few zingers in. He called Trump a racist, a liar and a clown and told him to "shut up". Those were the high points out of around 88 minutes of vey low points. So did you watch? Should the next two debates along with the VP debate scheduled for next week go on as planned?

There is high point to telling a sitting president to shut up or calling him a clown. That all aside, despite my being a Trump supporter (and continue to be), my greatest disappointment was that Trump did not perform well and COULD have. His accomplishments are many and he needed to capitalize on them. I did not like the performance of anyone on that stage. Candidates or moderator. It was a mess. The whole thing.

I did not watch. It does not sound very presidential at all. Yes, let them go on. Maybe we will see the light? Yet seeing we will still not believe, I guess.
