I just saw an injured kitten :(

I just saw the cutest little black and white kitten outside my window. It looked hungry, so my husband and I went to give it a bowl of milk. But it was very skittish and took off in the opposite direction as soon as it spotted us. We noticed it had a pronounced limp and hissed at us in defence. My heart broke at the thought of someone or something hurting it. We left the milk outside for it but it still won't drink. We keep looking out of the window to see where it's at but it's not coming anywhere near the milk. It's heartbreaking Image credit: Dimhou @pixabay.com

'tis possible someone harmed the kitten fer doin' what kittens do :( thus the fear 'f y'all. i hope 't shows back'p 'n partakes'n yer gift. do ya got a critter cage? i've several 'f diff'rent sizes. where's i can capture said critter to get a closer look 't their needs. 'r'n the cases 'f skunks, haul 'em to where there 'tis ol' vacant ranch land so they've shelter, food/water 'fore one 'f the neighbors shoots 'em...

Yes, it's so sad. But the kitten disappeared. I can only home its mama came back for it. Luckily, it did finish the bowl of milk we left out. Oh, I hope nobody hurts your cats - that would just be horrible

@crazyhorseladycx That's good to hear! I bet people aren't all too happy when the skunks and foxes eat their chickens and eggs The thing is, as our populations have grown over the years, we've started to encroach on wild animal territory as well. Yes, fingers crossed - I've not seen the kitten since that day.

I know Kittens are the sweetest. And I never like to see any living creature suffering. Fingers crossed it's safe with its mummy

@DianneN Yes, I've not seen it since, so I can only hope for the best Oh, I'm the same. I know there's the food chain and the natural order of the life cycle but I can never watch 'a kill' and enjoy it like a lot of people do. If I can, I look away because it breaks my heart

@Lushlala I really hope it's safe with it's mommy. I agree and feel the same as you about any living creatures suffering. A hawk swooped down a couple of days ago and carried off a squirrel. I was so upset, even knowing the hawk had to eat, too.
