Why my phone has no network here

This is the first time i encountered,
My phone is new when i came here
But when i put simcard,no network.
I am using portable WiFi for my internet and now it's misbehaving. So i need to use my phone but this is the problem, no network.
I think i need to show to the shop.
Have you experienced it?
What might be the reason.

In my case, my mobile network was suspended, after reporting it was categorized to damage sim and replace with new one. Hoping it is not the same case like mine.

@rhuenz if the phone is new and bought there, and the sim card was also bought there, then maybe you should take them back to where you bought the phone and the sim?

it may have been hanged............once off it and then on it..............it will become active
