Aroma of yummy rice fills the house...

We had a heavy breakfast of aloo paratha( stuffed spicy mashed potatoes in Indian chapati and then cooked with oil on pan) with curd. Somewhere around 12 none of us felt hungry for lunch and thought of skipping it. We thought a banana with few nuts would be enough to keep us full till early dinner. But then around 1 younger daughter felt like having a real lunchand slowly husband and elder one also felt the same. And their suggestions for quick yummy meal made me salivate and feel hungry So I made this quick one pot rice that you can see in picture. It's pudina( mint) and coriander flavored yummy spicy rice. And to add health to it, I have added some finely chopped carrots, beans, ginger, garlic, onion and tomatoes along with the green paste of mint and coriander. Added a bit of spices powder and to add some protein to it we added a handful of peanuts and soya chunk. Now the rice is all cooked and still in pan on stove as in picture. And the aroma has filled the air and making everyone hungry Time to enjoy it.

It's funny how, once we smell food cooking, then we become much more hungry.

Si true. A direct connection between our olfactory and gustatory sensesAroma and presentation of food are always stimulus for hunger.

Golgappa are actually very yummy!! They are spicy. In fact most of our dishes are spicy because India is a land of spices and herbs. Good to know that you enjoy Bollywood movies. Who are your favorite actors??

Neither porridge or fried rice. It was like biryani. It is a little soft but not sticky like porridge. The aroma of all herbs and spices is really divine

Yes you can call it a sort of that. Though I added no dum to it which is peculiar of a biryani recipe.
