Coronavirus vaccine mandatory

Do you think the Corona Virus vaccine should be mandatory worldwide? In some countries like Brazil, for example, the authorities discuss the possibility that vaccination against Covid -19 is mandatory. Those who do not take it may suffer sanctions such as not being able to attend school or even taking a bus. What do you think of all this?

I don't see how any country could possibly make any such vaccine mandatory until its effectiveness and lack of side-effects has been proven - and that normally takes a couple of years

I have to agree, it's not possible to force a vaccine on anyone. Sure, in the u.s., children are required to take certain shots, or they cannot attend school. However, as always, there are exceptions to the rule. For example, the flu shot is one of them... but if you're allergic to eggs, you cannot take it. So, they can try, but no. They would have to build in exceptions. Given how well the flu shot goes (places try to bride you to take it), tells me less and less Americans are voluntarily getting the annual shot.

I don't fall for that. I do not take flu shots and I am fine.

@lovebuglena I haven't taken a flu shot since my senior year of high school. I could've refused then (because I was 18), but didn't. When they tried to get me to take it a second time, I was like.... uh... I just left the inferemy.... I'm NOT going back. Bare in mind, it was in the middle of campus and that's a fifteen-minute walk (if you walk slow/a normal pace). And I had gotten my first wheelchair, so it took longer.

@kaylachan And they tell people that getting a flu shot is a must! Really? I don't think so. Some get the flu shot and then get really sick. Is that supposed to happen? Isn't the flu shot so you don't get sick?

NO, people have right to freedom of decision. Only totalitarian countries force people to do things against their will.

I think it should be up to the person whether they take it or not.

You can't force people to get a vaccine.

@myklj999 You are saying it can be required by law that everyone gets vaccinated?

@myklj999 True but that's not a covid vaccine. I was referring to that one specifically.

Who will shoulder it? Do the government have the right funding to give free vaccine to all?

It would take YEARS to have enough doses to vaccinate the entire population of the world.

I am totally happy with this if it is free. Although some exempt can be granted for people who are medically not compatible with vaccines.
