Santa's Drunk

Disclaimer: This post mentions Christmas. If you suffer from allergies due to Christmas or any other affliction that might cause you irritability when Christmas is mentioned, I recommend that you not read further. Thank You For Your Understanding. My mother bought a pattern for Mr. And Mrs. Claus crocheted costumes sometime in the 1990's. She set about making at least three different Mr. and Mrs. Claus to give to the family that year. I vaguely remember seeing a blue santa outfit but am not sure where that santa is. She bought the three doll santa dolls and three Mrs. Claus dolls. I've since found both the pattern I think she used as well as the doll bodies she used online. I think I will eventually buy the pattern, the dolls and the yarn to make it and make my own. Pictured are Drunk Mr. Claus and his husband, Mr. Claus. I thought Mrs. Claus was packed beside Mr. Claus but whoever packed these packed the men side by side. These belonged to my mom which leads me to believe we had two sets of the Clauses at one time growing up. Oh well.. Poor Mr. Claus has drunk too much spiked eggnog and his glasses are all askew. Forgive the somewhat blurry picture.

I wish I could take credit for making them. Momma made these, and I love the little buttons she picked out for Santa.

Buttons are missing off of one of them. I thought maybe mom didn't sew buttons onto one of the santa's but I can see the places where the buttons should be.

@thelme55 I don't know how to sew, but I do have a friend who knows how. I could find buttons I like and ask her to do it for me.

You can do this! I suffer an allergic reaction to the mention of s**w, not Christmas. :-)

I want some of that S**w, so feel free to tell it to come down here instead of staying up there! I will get the pattern and the supplies after Christmas. Then I'll work on the dolls and maybe make a set for my friends.

Thank You. I took a closer look at the buttons on Santa's vest and I think my mom might have made them out of shrink a dinks (shrunk plastic).

@ShifaLk It's something she used to get for my sister and I when we were small. You cut out a design and color it then shrink the plastic in the oven.

@GodServantme Everyone could use a pair of socks! I remember when I was younger I hated socks as a gift, but now I am happy to receive them as a gift.

I do too. I'm not a real big fan of eggnog because it's just too rich, but I love it spiked.
