Nervous and Excited

This Friday, I have an appointment with an oral surgeon. I'm having a top plate put in. I've been waiting for this for a long time. My brother was so excited for me.
I have some teeth that will have to be cut out. I am nervous about the pain afterwards as well as how well I will adjust to the plate. But I'm excited to finally have it done.
I know the first time I see my smile afterwards, I will think of my brother. I think he was more excited than I was at the time. He was supposed to be the one to take me Friday.

i'm glad yer gettin' such tended, hon. hopefully the pain'll be minimal 'n well worth such. he'll be there'n spirit'n heart, holdin' yer hand, smilin' 'side ya.

I'm sure whatever pain I do have will be worth it. I've had teeth pulled before and several root canals and I've never had pain. I've also had a bridge. So, im not nervous about my teeth being pulled. I am nervous about the two that may have to be cut out and having the denture put right in.

@simone10 don't blame ya there, hon. but 'tis 'mportant to get those dentures'n 's soon's possible i'm told. the gums'll shrink otherwise.

@LindaOHio Definitely. I'm so nervous this morning. The person who was supposed to take me this morning backed out last night. Now I have to take an Uber and I can't be sedated without someone here. That's what scares me.

First time I heard of top plate. Is it something like jacket or root canal?
