Day 93 Promise 552 Acts 10:34 Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: 35 But in every nation he who fears him, and works righteousness, is accepted with him. Everyone wants acceptance from the people they work with, socialize with, members of their family, and friends. Nobody wants to feel left out, unwanted. Cornelius sent for Peter. As soon as he arrived and heard the purpose, he realized God’s message of salvation was for everybody. As Christians, you know the message of salvation is for everyone. John 3:14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: 15 That whosoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. God didn’t leave anyone out of His plan of salvation. His purpose is for everyone to accept Jesus, His Son, as Savior and Lord. 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. When you know God’s purpose, accepting Jesus as Savior and Lord should be easy. However, Satan also has a purpose, to stop you from hearing the message of salvation. John 10:10 The thief comes not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. God prepared the way for Cornelius to hear the message of salvation when He sent an angel to him and have him send for Peter. Peter perceived God’s purpose and presented God’s message of salvation and everyone who heard, accepted Jesus as Savior and Lord and were filled with the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues. Peter went to Cornelius with other witnesses who could testify of Cornelius’s household’s acceptance of Jesus as Savior and Lord. What has God purposed in you? His message of salvation is for everyone and you are commanded to go into all the world and preach the good news to everyone who will listen and hear. Let’s pray: Father, thank you for reminding me that You are no respecter of persons. Salvation is for everyone. Help me to be Your witness and tell others the good news of salvation. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. Copyright © 10 November 2020 by Valerie Routhieaux Image courtesy of Pixabay
