Do you prefer a short or long post?

Good day friends I often read various posts here, some are long, some are too long, some are short and I always wondered what people here prefer to read? Do you prefer when the post is long or short? I am someone who has to translate every post first, and then translate my answer from my language into English, and that takes a lot of time, so I always prefer short posts. I know my posts are boring, but at least they are short.

I prefer a post with more than two sentences. I sometimes write long posts, but for those I add a little summary in the bottom under the TL;DR. TL:DR stands for Too Long ; Didn't read.

Too long posts take up too much of my time, but I read and comment on them.

@Nevena83 Yes, they do take up a lot of time. That's why I like to summarize mine. I think it helps more people respond and understand what i was rambling about.

I prefer a short post like this post of yours so I can read a lot of posts from other Mylotters but I don't like it when it is only a 1 or 2 sentences post. It is not worth my comment. Btw, your post is not boring at all.

Some of the long posts go on and on as the writer does not know how to summarize

Sometimes I will skip a really long post but not if they are well-written. I think most people prefer the shorter ones.

I wouldn't say your posts are hiring but I didn't realize you had to translate everything back and forth. Some would rather one longer post than several short ones. But I ramble and am long winded sometimes and hasn't thought about anyone having to translate to participate here. You do so well I completely missed that.

I don't know English and then I have to translate every post and every comment, then write the answer in my own language and translate it into English again. It takes me a lot of time.

If a post is longer, it really has to be a topic I am interested in, and it has to catch my attention from the first sentence or two to keep reading. One kind of post I generally do not like around here are what I call "comprehensive" posts. In other words, they are those posts which try to put too many things into it at once. "I did this, then I did that, and then I did that, and I was thinking about doing this other thing, and yesterday I did this, but today I want to do this." I think posts are best when they stick to a single topic, stay to the point, and are as concise as is possible. But that said, all posts are different. Some need to be longer, others need to be shorter. It just depends. I would have to say I do prefer shorter.

@Nevena83 That's part of the problem. With those who do those kinds of posts, I generally pick one thing and comment on that. But if I am being totally honest, I usually find it impossible to read the entire post. Not because I cannot read something longer. But because when the post has too much information going all over the place, it just loses my interest.
