New York Road Runners virtual races

I love that New York Road Runners incorporates its virtual races in with the Strava application. With most fitness applications having the GPS feature to track your distance it eliminates any chances of cheating or claiming a virtual race not completed. In this era of covid 19, it seems like the best route to go until runners are able to mingle together to compete in large races.

seems interesting, how does this race run, is it on the treadmill then measure the distance traveled, or like what? can you explain?

No it is not used on treadmill it is used by using Strava which has a GPS feature on your phone. You use it outside, choosing your own preferred route.

With the GPS application you hit start, then run it until you hit the distance. Hit stop when you are done.
