I met someone

i met someone a few days ago and his actually not so bad,
just when i'm about to believe his exactly like those who wronged me hiding behind a mask,
he gives me reasons to believe his different, i actually spoke to him today and the conversation went pretty well, well the conversation went exactly how i thought it would.
i'm afraid and i know i shouldn't be but he brings out this joy that i haven't had in such a long time. i have this feeling that he might actually stick around but each time i get this feeling i question myself, ''how long would he actually stick around''.
i know i just met him, so i shouldn't keep my hopes up but i believe i'm already messing things up. i told kept mentioning today on the call the word friends, i honestly kept mentioning it to make sure we were at least friends, i know it's strange but i like to know i have a title and not just someone you speak to, there's so much more that i want to say but please let me know down below if i'm over thinking this situation to much.

You are over thinking. Don't indulge too much over nothing. Watch a movie or read a book - do something that will preoccupy the mind instead of dwelling on this guy you just met.

You're want to have a title to feel secure, we all have been there but that won't help you for longer I believe you're an amazing person. Don't run in a circle repeating same actions its not healthy. If you want to make sure about being friends express yourself in a polite manner and observe his behaviour, that should be enough to know where you stand don't hang around
for a single person live your life. Because sometimes people aren't completely genuine. Even after everything Take some months to know him better and vice versa. Understanding is the best form of intimacy. You will get there. Don't indulge too much in temporary happiness you deserve better and to be understood.

@Merliva good that he told you upfront. I wish last guy I spent my time on was truthful enough to tell me too. I wasted my efforts times emotions energy.

I always believe that there is goodness in every person we met, its a good opportunity for us to know that person and not judging him/her on the first day of meeting. we never know one day this person will change our lives for the better. ;)
