Way Too Early

There’s a morning television show here in the USA called Way Too Early. It comes on weekdays at 4:00 a.m. Many mornings when I wake up, that’s what’s on TV—which means I’m often awake way too early. I like waking up early. That’s the best time of day for me. But 4:00 a.m. is a little too early even for me. Five o’clock is about right but I can’t seem to sleep that long. During all those years when I worked and raised my daughters on my own 5:00 a.m. was about the time I got up each day. That gave me time to get us all ready and out the door for school and work without being too rushed. Now that I’m retired and have a more leisurely life I can sleep as long as I like, but I’m still usually awake way too early. Can’t seem to train my body to sleep longer, so I just enjoy that time of stillness and meditation before my husband gets up at a reasonable hour of 8:00 a.m.

I would be happy to wake up at 5 too. Too often I wake up at 1 or 2. Like last night. Eventually I went back to sleep but feel rough. Time for more coffee!

Unfortunately I do that also. More trouble for many as they age.

I cannot sleep at all early I have to get up I just have to. It is my body clock.

Exercise helps put me to sleep and arise early to do it again.

I don't have problems going to sleep. It's staying asleep until a more reasonable hour that evades me. I'm always quite active during the day with multiple activities, but I've heard that exercise in the evening interferes with sleep.

From my observation, females seem to do this more than males.
