As I hear UK already have big restrictions - bars and pubs closed, sport games without audience. Now Boris announce even tougher rules. Looks this rules will not be applied on entire country than on specific regions.
Can it be even more tougher than it is? What new measurments he talks about? New article on BBC was not specific.

I read about the restrictions in the UK. It’s tough to shut down an entire country, but measures have to be taken to stop the spread.
I wish our President had more interest in stopping the virus in the US, but he is more interested in himself.

@mrki444 I never did.
Biden will be approved by Congress on January 6th, although Trump and his idiots are trying hard to change that. On January 20th, Biden will be sworn in as President officially at his inauguration.
If things go awry and Trump winds up as President, start looking for a house for me in your neighborhood. I swear I will leave the country!

I feel for those in GB who must be so nervous especially with this latest mutant strain of the virus.
We have lockdowns in areas of our country.
There are no bars open here, no eat in dining allowed, essential stores are only open, and only 25% capacity.
We are all doing what we feel is necessary to stay safe, it is so frightening.

@mrki444 Honestly I feel that the only way to completely break the cycle of transmission is to stop all international travel.
We had 5 cases of that strain last week already, but we are in a lockdown. Planes are flying into the international airports from all over, not the UK exactly, but via other countries. And even people from other countries contract that strain, and then travel to a few other countries before returning home again.

I heard that my country imposed travel bans for inbound and outbound including UK. I hope that this will end soon.

@Gillygirl Yes but symptoms which cause it are similar to original strain. Did anybody in your area get vaccine?

Got very tough restrictions here for the moment no one is allowed to travel right now except for work and they have to take half a dozen papers with them to prove it also.
British strain or whatever they want to call it is in Gibraltar already so there is no easy way out of this for any of us.
I was hearing that France has lockdown from eight o´clock onwards of a night we now have ten o clock lockdown time but it could be made even tougher in the next few days.

Oh yes Gibraltar has forbidden any tourism at the moment and everyone else has to have proof of tests of PCR to be able to cross the border as the gate that famous gate won´t be taken down just yet.
Note that is what they are saying on the News not me as they were also talking about Brexit.

@lovinangelsinstead21 PCR test are now obligated in many countrys. I hope tourist season will be good. Many countrys from Mediterranean depend on it.

Every country does what it needs to do to stop the spread of the virus.

From all I hear, there is a variant from the virus, which makes it more easy to catch. No one knows what to do. But this new one spread much faster we hear. Its here already in the US.

It could be a lot tougher. We don't know what else might change - it's a real pain at the moment because they like to announce things at the very last minute - school closures the day before, for example - which makes any necessary arrangements very difficult for people.
