Colourful Shaun Sheep seen in Bristol, England, in 2015

Having written about colourful kangaroo sculptures, I was reminded of some colourful sheep which we saw in Bristol, England in January 2015. You can catch up here: https://www.mylot.com/post/3025197/shaun-the-sheep-alive-and-well-in-bristol. Sometimes, that visit seems a lot longer than six years ago. A charity art trail had been organised by Wallace and Gromit's Children's Foundation. There were 70 sculptures of Aardman's Shaun the Sheep. These were later auctioned off to raise funds. I put up a lot of photos in the comments on that post but I thought a lot of new members may not have seen it. Now that I can make collages, I can put up nine of the dozen or so we saw. Personally, I’m not that keen on the sculpture. It doesn’t look much like a sheep to me. The ones I’m used to don’t have fat tails like these.

That's interesting. It's surprising that Shaun has even been around for that long.

What a coincidence! Someone replied to one of my comment left to your previous post only a few minutes ago. They do not look at all like real sheep, but they look like the character of the kids TV show.

I haven't seen the TV show although I've seen Wallace and Grommet who I think were created by the same person.

@judyev I had to look closed to the sheep clothed in the Union Flag to decide which end was which.

I don't really like them much, especially that stupid tail.

The ones you're used to might not have the fat tails, but you can't deny these sculptures are colorful and put a smile on my face. Thanks for sharing.

Hahaha I can see why you don't see much of a resemblance to sheep! The tails ARE too fat!

@JudyEv We have sheep but I can't say I've had a proper look at their tails. But those in your picture sure look a tad too chunky.

You're right, Shaun doesn't look much like a real lamb (though obviously recognisable as one) any more than Wallace and Gromit look like a real man and a real dog. I still love all those Aardman films though!

I thik the sheep statues are adorable. But, I do agree that their tails are a bit bigger than the ones we see.

They remind me of the sheep in the Serta mattress commercials here. They are cute. Glad you figured out how to put multiple pictures in a frame.

The collage option is very useful when you'd like to put up more than one photo.

Oh cute, from "Wallace and Gromit". I haven't seen that show in a long time. We did something similar here. "Snoopy" and some of the characters from the "Peanuts" comic strip in Minneapolis, some people got real inventive with how they were painted
