Is the rapid test there free?

I just thought that vaccines are free, but the problem is the rapid tests that are not covered by the government. Of course, no one wants to be vaccinated unless all costs are borne by the government.

@May2k8 If we have symptoms, we call our doctor and we have the prescription for the free test.

Rapid test is not free here (we are in the same country ). Almost all activities outside require rapid test first. Flight, rapid test first. Surgery, rapid test first. Money money money.... Rapid test costs around Rp 200k - 400k here, swab is more expensive. My friend paid Rp 1.900k for various covid test before his surgery

Because everything happened because of Covid, the requirements for being in the hospital were complicated, especially having to leave the city.

@May2k8 true.. but everything becomes business. You know few months ago i read we have local rapid test. It develops by few univerities, the price is also cheap and can be easily done by ourselves. Under Rp. 100k. But it seems like the news just disappear.

@Cheyee For the safety of this sinovac vaccine is 63.5%, so it seems that it needs mental preparation. We expect the same.

As for us here, test is free if you're suspect affected, suspected affected by being close contact to Covid patient or live in the area that's on lockdown. However, it's not compulsory to do the test if you live in lockdown area, unless you suspect you're at risk of carrying the virus. If you're none of those and still want to do the test, you have to pay for it. Can't remember how much though. That's what I learnt from a friend who was in quarantine before.

It's the same as here, but the difference is that if we are going to be vaccinated we are told to have a rapid test first and that's where the problem is we have to pay for the rapid test and the person who does it for us.

In India it's made free the rapid test. Initially it was chargeable, then the government declared it free.

Yes, each person was tested with a new tool without being touched by the others. And I think the test is still quite expensive because doctors or nurse also have to be paid.

@May2k8 But I think rapid test isn't that expesive, it's about Rp150k, it's relatively affordable. The expensive one is swab test, it's almost 1 million rupiah.

This rapid test only takes about 15 minutes to find out the results and according to WHO, it cannot detect the type of virus that has mutated.

@May2k8 According to private institutions it is not, according to state institutions it is but it is not reliable...and state institutions (hospitals) do not recognize faster tests. And this second type of PCR test can only be done by public hospitals and laboratories. When they suspect at the examination and do a test for you, then it's free, but if you ask for it of your own free will, they charge (currently it costs around $ 90) For foreign citizens (tourists) I think it is even more expensive ...

What is currently trending here is the antigen test and PCR test, we don't know whether the government will provide it for free or not because the price is quite expensive, not necessarily the government will bear all the costs.

@May2k8 My brother once had positive symptoms of Covid-19, then he took a company-funded swab test. After the results are positive, the entire family is required to take a free swab test in the sub-district. No need to have a BPJS.
