Social Media as Method of Cyberbullying

January 18, 2021 9:30pm CST
Most of us were engaged in social media like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and many more. These things were just used for leisure time but as we have commonly observed, other people were using social media to bully someone. Are you one of the victims? Social media was a way to connect people worldwide not to destroy someone's reputation and dignity publicly. We have to be educated that not all the funny stuff in social media was for laughing purposes because other people might intend to post it without permission from the person in the photo or video. So, we have to be aware and careful of our actions to prevent such incident.

Actually I never been the victim on any kind of bullying on my own social media because my followers are my friends, but I've seen many, But there are some people are just too young to use social media, and they just post something, comment on someone's social media without thinking first, and they're rude just because they don't know the victim in person or in real life. But there's another factor, that's the content, some people upload something that could make another people get mad, here's the thing. Once you upload something on social media, and you don't make it private, it belongs to public, Be wise to put comment, and be wise to share the content.

Yeah, it is the responsibility of both, the person who posted must think carefully if a post is appropriate or not. The audience is responsible to keep their words decent as possible and they should not be judgemental on whatever they have seen on social media.

People do have to be careful what they say on these sites. Sometimes it is hard to explain what you mean and then people take it the wrong way.

Why are you writing this in the Past Tense? I think that things are still this way and that nothing has changed.

People can get pretty nasty on social media. That's one of the major downsides. I am not sure I was ever bullied on social media thankfully. At least I don't remember it happening.

I have had to close a lot of social media accounts since some people have a bad habit of using vulgar language or insults since they disagree with my point of view related from politics to sports entertainment.

Social media does seem to attract some nasty people, that is one reason why I never use it.
