Combatting Writer's Block Day 13 - Teenagers and Stuff

Yesterday we got the call we were waiting for. My daughter was caught shoplifting at Walmart. We kind of had a feeling but weren't sure. They didn't say anything to me. They brought her to us and said nothing. We have set in some punishments and are going to figure out where to go from here. Other than that, things are okay. I just am taking it one day at a time.

You already thought this was happening? Had your daughter given you clues? How old is she? Why would she do that? Go easy on her. These things don't happen for no reason. My son got caught shop lifting. Some kid at school bullied him into doing it. I had thought there was something up but didn't want to pressure him. It's not easy, good luck

Calm yourself up and wait for her to open up about what had happened.

That's all you can do. I also suggest talk to her, find out what she was doing and why. She might fight you, but she'll appreciate later, you were there for her.

Sorry to learn that one of your relatives was caught shoplifting. I hope she learns that stealing from a store will cause her reputation some harm.

How old is she? Best to do in this situation is to talk heart to heart to her before punishing her or anything. She might have a reason of doing it.

It sounds like you have had other issues with your daughter. Do you have a counselor? Somebody for all of you to discuss things with?

I am sorry that you intuition about your daughter was right. I hope you are able to talk with her about it and give the proper punishment.
