This was taken from the The evening herald. [volume] (Albuquerque, New Mexico) 1914-1922, February 07, 1921, Page 7, Image 7 Located on chroniclingamerica.loc.gov I was debating between this or another section called people you know which advertised the comings and goings of prominent figures in the area. This is a wee bit more interesting though. $4,500 is equal to $60,419.23 in today's money. I wonder how lucrative this business was in those days?

Very lucrative. Paves always have made a lot of cash. I remember dating one a long time ago.

Hmm.. I know a few years ago a friend was talking about doing side work as a sign holder for road construction. Just stand there and flip the sign and it was supposed to be great money.

The beauty about the old golden time was the currency value was much better then now.... Few cents would buy bread, not now the value won't enjoy money you worked for??

I have heard of this too, that the dollar stretched more in times past.
