Do you use the term “hump day” for Wednesday? The idea behind it is that after today, you’re over the hump of the working week and it’s all downhill until the weekend. I love the expression! Do you?

Sometimes I used to. Especially during school. Now I rarely do. Our "hump day" varies from work week to work week depending on when my husband has the day off. Ours was actually Monday this week since he worked six days in a row streight.

@kaylachan 6 days in a row - yikes that is a lot. Does he have to do that often?

This expression - or any other - isn't used in German. The reason must be that we don't need it. The German term for 'Wednesday' is 'Mittwoch' which means 'middle of the week'.

I never liked that term. I only had my sights set on Friday when I worked and still do now that I am retired.

I just found out what this means from a bus driver who said it means the same thing you just said. Thursday is the day for me. One day before Friday!
