Once upon a Time.....

Time stood still for us once upon a time, time was all we had. Do you remember? I remember it all so clearly...
Every word said, every word unsaid..every emotion felt..the joy, the pain.
I remember it all because I want to, because once upon a time, I had you. I know I have lost you, so I hold on to every memory of you, silently hoping you are holding on to me too.
Yes, if I could turn back the hands of time, I would...I would run to you, run to us, to that time when it was just us. But how can I run to you, when you are not you...how can I turn back time, when I am not me...time betrayed us....yes, time changed us.
So I find myself back at the beginning. Thinking about you, the one I used to know... hoping you are okay and happy, even if it hurts me. Will time heal me? Will I learn to accept that time will not stand still for us once more...or will time look at us and bring us back to each other...

Thank you...it's actually something I have been going through for quite sometime...a love I just can't seem to let go of, and thought maybe it would help to express myself here

@FionaRubi yes, sometimes those memories suddenly come when we hear or see that reminds us of something that has happened in the past.

Sometimes time does not heal; it just causes more pain, separation, and unwanted changes to us all.
Unhealed pain can turn to resentment, and this can build, and build, separating us from life, from others, from ourselves, and even from time, as we are locked in our own vacuum, where nothing much can get to us, or affect us, anymore too.

@FionaRubi Even with a rollercoaster, the ride must come to an end sometime, unless time can stand still for you again on there too.
When time stands still, we are living in the now, of present time, and not being so afraid of the future, that it grabs too much of our attention then too.
