When Is The Best Time To Post On MYLOT?

I don't write for writing's sake. I want to be read. In order to be able to read my profound musings, people must be awake and not at work (or only if they can check the latest posts on myLot without the boss noticing it). I live in Central Europe, in Germany to be precise. It's one hour later here than in the UK, Ireland and Portugal. The only other members in my time zone I know about are @LadyDuck who lives in Switzerland and @TitiaG in the Netherlands. There used to be members from Italy, France and Norway, but I haven‘t noticed them for a long time. I'm retired. I can post at any time of the day. But I let my fellow time zoners work and return home. Especially the ones from the UK and Ireland who've been my faithful followers for a long time on more than one site. We've migrated together from green pasture to green pasture. (Sadly, some of these have dried up over the years.) Most of my readers live there. So I consider their time scheme most of all. Quite a lot of members I follow and who follow me live in the USA and Canada. When it's late afternoon or evening here, it's morning, mid morning or early afternoon there depending on where they live. The retirees can read my posts 'live' so-to-speak. Hopefully, the others find them later. I think they can understand that I don't want to stay awake until midnight or later only to converse with them simultaneously. Let's look east (from where I am). I consider the Balkans and Greece as more or less the same time zone as mine. When I post late in the evening, it's early evening with them. A good combination. One member lives in Serbia. Sadly, the ones from Romania, Russia and the Englishwoman living in Greece have disappeared. Now that Val from NZ has said good-bye, I haven't got many regular Antipodean readers. When I post in the evening, they can find me in the morning of the (their) following day if they're early birds. The Indians, Pakistani, Phillippinos, Indonesians and Chinese fall through the cracks. I have to live with that. There aren't many I'm in contact with. If they want to find me, they have to look for me. Up to now I have the impression that it works. Have you ever had such thoughts? --- Re my question from the title: An active myLotter should never sleep! --- The Russian words on the picture (from the net) mean: MyLot, small trading place

I obviously live in the U.S. and since I am a homemaker and Mylot is my only real income (outside of disability checks), I can post when I feel like it. Or, read posts when I please. I pop on during the day, and if I'm up late at night (which is quite often) I'll read and reply to posts then. I post based on how I'm feeling that day.

Yes, I have thought about it. Since I am on disability, I can read and post on here throughout the day. Likes and comments slow down later in the evening (before I go to bed). But, once I an awake and turn on my computer for the day, I generally find that there has been activity in the night. Most of those likes and comments are from the opposite side of the world.

I don't know if there is a 'best' time; after all your followers will find your posts no matter when you post them. I don't expect to get replies immediately. In fact if I do end up getting prompt responses and carrying on a 'conversation' that is rather a surprise. I had forgotten the Englishwoman in Greece until you mentioned her - what happened to her I wonder? There are a few other people I remember too who seem to have vanished.

It does not happen like that. I mean, I have been here for almost 12 years now. Naturally my followers are more. So I rarely get to go beyond first two pages. Timing becomes crucial especially for us Indians.

@Fleura NO.. please don't read it that way. I have been here for 12 years. So for the balance 6 more years when compared to you, I would have added more. I am not sure the last six years has given as many followers as payments have come down and many folks I knew too have left. It is not about popularity.. sigh. Sorry if it reads that way.

I just post what I want when I feel like it and can. I figure if people online want to read it they can. If not that is fine too.

I mostly post in the evening after dinner. I know that when I am about to go to bed around midnight, Filipino Mylotters are active.

I used to think about that when I worked for Bubblews. Not really thinking about it that much now because I'm more or less doing this to entertain myself.

@MALUSE I can't say I was cheated. I was paid most of the time. I can't remember if they paid me near the end there when there were so many problems. It was a bit of a disaster lol.

@NateB11 We weren't cheated while bubblews was working. We were cheated in the end. The last payout didn't happen.

I pop into myLot whenever I can but since I also do writing jobs from home it depends on how tired I am some evenings. If I can I try to get on here at least once a day. I like finding out what everyone has been up to and see my notifications, When I lived on your side of the world in Latvia I always counted the difference of the house between there and the US it was usually 7 hours being Latvia ahead of the US by seven, Now I get confused as to the time between the US and other countries,

Unfortunately just recently l have had little time to spare but when l get a bit of free time l indulge myself for a little while to try & catch up with friends here. That's why l tend to binge read several posts to catch up on things. Your posts are always interesting & informative & l look forward to catching up with your musings. We are an hour behind you so l know you may well have posted already. I liked the fact that there is always something to read starting with our friends from the Far East ending my day with those in the far west.

Thank you for being a faithful reader of my posts! I suppose that we won't get any travel reports from you this year what with the many restrictions due to Corona.

@MALUSE Oh lord l don't know where to begin with all the cancellations. Japan looks like it will be cancelled yet again in October/ November. l am hoping Lufthansa will be kind enough to transfer the flights for a third time. My world cruise in December has been canceled again & moved to 2023. The only bonus is that each time they have cancelled, the cruise line have given us a couple of thousand pounds as compensation. To be honest it is beyond their control but it would be silly to turn it down! . I joked at this rate they will be paying us to go with them! We do have one booked to Scotland & around the British isles at the end of August only for British residents who are vaccinated & only at 50% capacity so that should be better than nothing. A Christmas cruise to the Canaries & Madeira for the New Year fireworks display which are apparently quite a spectacle. Then nothing until August for the 2020 cancelled Oberamagau passion play & a week at Lake Garda. Time will tell!

You have a good question here. I admire your precise ability to keep track of everyone on the planet. I sure am not able to do that.

I love it more when I can have back and forth interactions on here right away, as opposed to responding to something and then getting a response back some time later and responding to that, etc. That's hard to do because of time differences and people's schedules. But when it happens it is more fun. I am actually able to do that with Jim from Scotland sometimes. But otherwise it is rare.

I usually write stories on this site around late afternoon since I have family obligations to make sure my nephew gets off safely from the bus to come home.

I am up until two AM every night but I still miss a lot of people on here. I come on late because having a good breakfast is important to me. Than we go for our half hour walk in the morning. Come home and do all of our running around before we stay home for the day. When I see your discussion I always go into it.

I tend to try for the US myLotters the most. (Only because there are more of them). I'm a nightowl anyway, never going to bed before 3am my time, so that suits quite well. Another thing I do is look at the most recent posts - if there are very few comments on most of them I don't bother to post myself. I'll wait till there are more commenters around.

I just write when I want (although I do not consider what I do here to be writing), and people find me when they can. This is just a pastime for me (as it is for many of us), so I don't spend much time thinking too much one way or the other about what happens here, who catches me or misses me, whether a post does well or not and so on and so forth.

Obviously I haven't been around for a while because I just noticed a notification that you mentioned my name. LOL At the moment I'm rather busy with a lot of other things and then I'm not always in the mood for discussions. It's 23.15 local time now and this is the first time today to sit at my pc.

You're the only representative of your country, so I honoured you by mentioning your name. :-) There are two members living in Germany, a woman from Indonesia who married a German and me. I find this surprising what with 80+ million inhabitants.

@MALUSE Might be that MyLot is not so wellknown in Europe as it is in other countries. I had never heard of it untill recently someone on Hubpages mentioned it.
