We have a guest at home. Nick and his two children. Over dinner, he told us how angry he was with his wife.
15th of March was their son’s 9th birthday. His wife surprised him with a gift. A 50cc peewee motorbike for his autistic son, who could hardly even ride a bicycle! And the first thing she asked her husband to do was to take a photo so she could post it on facebook!
I couldn’t understand why a mother would give a $200 bike to a son who could hardly even ride a bicycle and who didn’t even ask for such so she could only brag it on facebook to her friends!
Nick will be staying with us for a couple of days to cool off.

@allen0187 I doubt they would resort to that. They’re very traditional and they even got married twice. One before the judge and the other was a church wedding. You know why? Because once again, the wife wanted to show off. Her friend got married in church and she wanted the same too!

They fight all the time and they curse each other. They even fought right after their wedding. That’s the kind of life she really has but what she posts in social media is how sweet she and her husband are. She always competes with everybody. She must always have what her neighbor has.

You are absolutely right Judy. She’s childish and very selfish. She likes to compare herself to others and she must have what others have or more. She doesn’t want to be left behind. And i think she is still in denial about her son’s special needs. Her son is autistic and she doesn’t want people to judge her or her son. And she still cannot accept that.

Same here. Just done with breakfast and Nick told us another story about how horrible his wife and her family are. But well, he has known that before he got married to her but he has endured that for 9 years. I wonder how many more years he could endure before he finally calls it quits.
They’re the only couple i know that fought right after their wedding. And it wasn’t just a small argument but it involved a lot of cursing and shouting. Right after marriage!

@LadyDuck Nope i don’t think that would change at all too. But it’s his choice. There was a time when they almost broke up and he came running to us. That time they only had one child. But his wife really knows how to appease him. He came back again.
He actually dislike his wife and when he talks to us we could not hear anything good about her and her family at all. But well, he made the choice to be with her and i don’t think that would ever change.

I feel same way about someone. The baby I know is very exploring and ends up breaking stuffs. So, instead of giving toys like ball or make or break puzzles, the mother gives her delicate toys which are damn expensive.

Her husband must take photos of every single move of her children. New clothes, new toys, what they are wearing that day, what they’re eating, where they go. She wants to show the whole world that she has a perfect life, a better life than others.

You're right she did it to brag about her "wealth" or maybe her misplaced "love" and "care" for her autistic son. Others take pictures of their food while in an expensive restaurant or their most recent vacation in an expensive resort or island hopping or swimming with the "Butanding/Whale sharks" in Oslob.

Not only that. She likes competing with her friends. So she always wants to be ahead. She would sometimes even lie about owning a designer bag coz she doesn’t want to be left behind. She is that kind of person.

Sometimes people get too carried away with the addiction of bragging on social media. Many out there are suffering from it. Nick's anger is justified. Hope they both can talk later and sort things later once he is calm.
