High School sweethearts

do they actually last? It's the birthday of my high school friend, and her boyfriend posted a picture+greeting. I think they started "dating" since 6th grade until early college. I saw her again during college years and she told me they broke up, but then a few years later we saw pictures of them in facebook, going on dates. It's kind of cute, a lot of us were rooting for them.

In some cases, it can. However, this is rare. Sometimes, couples have to date others along the way to realize what they have.
