Fasting month and the Covid-19 pandemic

This month, or to be precise, April 13, 2021, Indonesian time, is the start of the fasting month of Ramadan for Muslims all over the world. It is very interesting because this year it must be implemented during the Covid-19 pandemic. Could it be that during the fasting month the rate of Covid-19 transmission will drop dramatically, because people are reluctant to leave the house or be full of activities like before? or will the opposite happen?

If there’s going to be a gathering then there’s a chance. Our government implemented a lockdown during the Holy Week and no celebration was done so as to avoid public gathering.

It's more or less the same here. Our government prohibits going home or returning to their hometowns during Eid, holidays are cut short and worship at mosques is limited by the number of visitors. All aim to reduce the number of Corona virus transmission.

If people go out less, the transmission will drop.

Hopefully this is what will happen. But I don't know if after the fast is over many people leave the house to look for food. This will be very risky because they will usually fight each other for food and like to hang out when queuing.

Thank you. What about the current conditions in America? Is there still discrimination of Asians there because of the Covid-19 pandemic? Hopefully everything can return to normal.

@DianneN I'm sorry if this question makes you uncomfortable. Next time it won't happen again.
