A friend from the past...

It's a small world... Yesterday I met someone for the second time. The first time was when I handed her an Easter treat that I was passing out to residents. She was blind and can barely make out shapes. She was given a wrong diagnosis and medication which caused the blindness. She has absolutely no bitterness towards the nurses and doctors. There is a glow that shines upon her face. She has a joy and peace all over her. I began to discuss her past with her, and she mentioned Beaches Chapel. Turns out she and I went during the same period where Dan and Marti Duke pastored, and Doug Fowler took over. After more discussions it turns out we were neighbors in the early 80's. Living in the same apartment building. She and her husband lived on one end; I lived on the other. It was located in Atlantic Beach. Her husband has since passed away, and she is now remarried. Little did I know that she now lives in the other building of the complex I reside in now. She has been there for 33 years. Started out with her first husband Bill, and now as mentioned...is remarried. I only knew her by the name she had then...Hughes. She told me today she spoke to another lady I knew...Shirley Sprinkle. I forgot all about her. Shirley told Laura to tell me hello. I was longing for some familiarity from my past. During a time when I was the most happiest. Little did I know that God had one of my best friends that I knew 42 years ago living right next door to me in the next building. I had not seen in her in 42 years, so obviously she changed. So did I. The more I look at her, the more I see my friend from yesteryear... We are now spending time rekindling our friendship from long ago. I have someone to pray with now. Someone to share memories with... Someone to laugh with... Someone who loves me, and I love her. Give God time... And He will restore your life, and bring back to you people who once truly loved, and enjoyed being with you.
