What's in a Name?

I think many of us don't really care much for our names. I know I never have. My first, middle & maiden name are all of French origin. My married name is Italian. I've been divorced for seven months, but kept the name. I didn't have to change my name on any documents, I prefer that surname & it's not as if going back to the old one would have made my life better. I've always liked my middle name. Neither that or my first are common. Though, for my first, the Irish spelling is more typical. I don't post my real name, I only share it in private with those I've gotten to know better. I will say this, some of my favorite female names are: Hope, Olivia, Rachel, Sabrina, Veronica. I don't know if any would work with my personality, but, I do like them. My name means strength. Which is appropriate. There's a lot of things I've survived in my life. Or, thrived, as I learned from a site of a woman dealing with stage four ovarian cancer. Flourishing is much better than just getting through. What is the origin & meaning of your name & which name, if any, would you rather have?

I actually love my name. Celeste isn’t a common first name. It’s French for heavenly. My kids names where picked because they sound well with our last name which is German for Rabbit. They are Madison, Joseph and Hayden (boy).

@ShyBear88 I don't think I've ever known a Celeste. The only Celeste that comes to mind is the actress, Celeste Holm. I don't like mine because it's harsh sounding. Besides misspelling it, sometimes people pronounce it the French way. It has the American pronunciation.

Malays would usually name their child with something related to Arabic as it would have a meaning. Though modern couples tend to name their child with more modern name and sometimes don't even have meaning at all.

@prinzcy I guess, if it's more modern, they will need to come up with their own meaning
