1 minute turned into an hour

Like every other day, the alarm on my phone went off at 5:30 am. I rolled over and hit the snooze to get another 9 minutes of "sleep". Nine minutes later the snooze goes off and I roll over once again to turn the alarm off. I'm laying there telling myself just stretch out and get your body ready to get out of bed. I tighten my muscles a couple time and then think relax for just a minute before you get up. When I finally pried my eyes open I could see light outside so I knew I was in trouble. I went in the kitchen and sure enough it was 6:54 am. Knowing there's no way I'm going to get cleaned up and make it to work on time, I turn and head for the bathroom to brush my teeth, shave, shower and get dressed. I'm out the door at 7:30 am and my only hope is that traffic will be light and that I won't get to work too much after 8:00 am. That didn't quite work out either! There was an accident in one of the intersections so now everyone has to merge down to 1 lane to get by. Don't you just love the people that wait until the very last minute to merge (but that's a different rant)? Anyway, I got to work about 8:15 am and after a rough start, my workday hasn't been too bad.

@Beaser I understand you. Sometimes you need more that 10 hours of sleep depending on how tired your brain is

@mildredtabitha - Yep, you're pretty much right. I go to bed in enough time to get my 8 hours in but that doesn't mean it's 8 hours of quality time.

Working is rough when you want to sleep. I always hated getting up and dealing with the world. I'm glad you were not too late and you could use the accident as your excuse.

@akalinus - Working can be rough and I'll definitely be glad when I can fully retire. But until then I'll have to work on my battle with the alarm clock.

When our alarm goes off we must wake up at once, otherwise we'll fall asleep again and we'll be late. It happened to me a few times though not often

@Shxrubia - You're absolutely right. Normally I don't have any problem getting out of bed but today, well, things didn't go as planned.
