It made an interesting reading. Most people say its a fiction. But I had felt certain shades of truth. Could it be true to some extent?

Thanks for your response..i do believe that there are some truths in it..It is not a mere fiction..I think if there is no truth in it, it would not created so many controversies..

Some aspects are rooted in fact. There was a Priory of Scion, established in 1956. They were also known as 'Knighthood of Catholic Rule and Institution of Independent Traditionalist Union'. They were a monastic order that believed in teaching the truth and helping the weak. They didn't promote the idea of a divine feminine line, though. And of course, the Knights Templar were very much real. And very heavily involved in the church. And because they got very wealthy very quickly and without any trace of where the wealth came from, they became the center for conspirecy theories. The idea of a line coming down from Christ is one that's been around for a very long time. There's no historical evidence to support it, but it's survived for centuries. The ideas Brown presented in the book aren't new, and have had enough vein of truth in them to hang on for a very long time.

this book sparked so much discussion... really fascinating. it's based of half truth and some facts and a lot of fiction. I enjoy reading it as it is. Thrilling and entertaining.... take it with a pinch of salt. But would really want to visit all those places mentioned in the book, don't you? there are a lot of other follow-up from this book. many other authors are banking on the debate and discussion, giving their own views and studies on the subject. interesting but i will still take it with a pinch of salt.... Another interesting book that I would recommend if you like things that are controversial... read "1421 - The year China discover the World".

i agree with you..the novel is interesting of course and is informative..when i say informative i am not referring to only the plot ..i am referring to the immense amnt of knowledge it gives you abt the world around ..for ex..the divine number 'phi' and its universal presence..origin of many english words and phrases as we know them today..the sign for the male and its use to date in army ranks..all these are abundant pools of knowledge..and as far as the plot goes i did some amnt of reading and research on the net abt it after reading the novel and there is a lot to discuss on it if you want..

The book is very well written and interesting, but don't take it as fact. Much of it is fabricated.

we all watched the movie based on this novel, My personal opinion is: I think only that its 2000year old story and now any one can only guess what was the reality, so we have to leave these things as they are and concentrate only on the sole of jesus's talks.

I enjoyed the movie, but I wouldn't call it informative. Most of what's presented is pure speculation. But it was an interesting idea - not actually original, there have been a few books with the same premise published over the years - but the movie was enjoyable and one I'll definitely see again.
