Ice Age or Great Burnup? Which do you think might happen?

The last Ice-Age was 20,000 plus years ago. And since all things tend to repeat themselves in nature[a True Fact], according to one group of Scientists we may be entering the next Ice Age. If this is the case, we may see unusual weather phenomenon & all kinds of freaky weather. I liked the movie "The Day After Tomorrow", where at the very start, Antartica's LarsonB Shelf breaks off into the Ocean. Incidentally such an event already occurred this year back in March!! A big chunk of the shelf went directly into the Ocean... Anyway the other point-of-view is that The Greenhouse Effect will cause the increase in heat of the whole Planet & melt all the ice and then dry up all the water ... leaving parched dry superhot deserts... aka The great Burnup... So share with us what you think...

According to archeaologists we are over 5,000 years over due for another ice age. Certainly what we know about past ones suggests increasing extremes of weather usher in the ice age so we may well be on the edge of one. As far as the great burn up goes, its estimated that it will be another few million years until the sun has used up enough of its energy to expand and burn life off this planet, so i think the ice age is more likely for just now

I donĀ“t think so, I think you should go on the net and seek some simulations and other informations about what would mean another ice age, look only at the loss of human lifes on long term. And by the way, I think that the Ice Age is more likely to happen, but it is just a "feeling" not a scientific opinion(mainly because I am from a total non-related area of knowledge).

I would say, that no machine has yet completed the simulation of Earth's future. But from past simulation models... some scientists are able to say that the ice age is going to happen somewhat as shown in the movie...."Day after Tomorrow". But it is not an accurate description. You are right... people will die, but something like this has been on the works for almost 1 million years...

I am not a scientist or anything so I would think hard to say. But I do know this.... I live in New Hampshire and 15 yrs or so ago we ALWAYS had snow by Thanksgiving. Last winter the biggest storm we had was only about 6 inches.. not good for those of us that own and like to ride snowmobiles! Today, the last day in November.. and it was 65 degrees today! WHAT?!?! It's crazy! It saves on my heating bill but what is going on?? Everyone wants to know if we are going to get a winter this year or not.

Scary stuff! I have been keeping an eye on global warming reports for a couple of years now. All what's been happening is talk, talk, talk. Nothing has been done! Now the crap is starting to hit the fan. Just last week I read about some 100 mountain frog species the suddenly went extic! They moved higher and higher up the mountain to maintain their cool climate requirments to survive untill they got to the top and now nowere else to go. They are extinct! Scientists are now saying that the problem is actuallly already on us! There is now way in hell this global warming is going to be curved - it's already busy hitting and is going to hit hard! The people that should be doing something are doing nothing because they will loose too much money! Great thinking - you will rather have all the money - but no planet to live on because you poisoned it! Real Wise!

Don't panic yet... We would have been long destroyed... Something has always protected mankind from total annhilation.. This kind of extinction has been happening for last 250 Million years

The ICE age will rule in next few thousand years. It's the GLOBAL WARMING that is affecting very much. If you want to avoid it, and make the world a better place to live quit PLASIC

Great Idea! Actually we need to go one step further... Find an alternative to Oil/Petrol.. Not LPG... it is still Oil-based. We need to explore Cold Fusion, Hot Fusion, Solar Power, Wind Power & Sea Power[Theoretical], Geothermal [Volcanic heat conduction] technology [Also Theoretical]... Who knows which technology will change our world for the better...?

hi, i think,we are going towards the ice age.as nowadays the ices in the antartic region are started melting and totally, the water level is incresing.many scientists says this is all due to the depletion of ozone layer.as there is a hole in ozone layer, nowadays heat has started increasing more.so,we are feeling more sunny.so.i think ice age will happen.

If you think we are going towards an Ice Age, why are we experiencing global warming then? If everything is bussy melting we can't be headed for an ice age. Unless of course if something interplanetry happened or if some volano exploded so bad that all the ash and gasses block out propper sunlight for a couple of years.
