COMMON SENSE. THE LESS COMMON OF THE SENSES

This phrase attributed to Voltaire, many times turns through my head. This happens when I see people who act in ways that seem irrational to me. My children tell me that what happens is that I am old and I look for the negative side of everything. I must admit that with the passage of time my actions are more restrained, I think about it more before acting, I evaluate different scenarios to decide accordingly. I think that this is part of common sense and that it becomes stronger as we age and therefore we face new experiences, which make us learn new behaviors and ways of seeing things. See people who carry out actions such as the one you can see in the photo, people who manipulate a tool or machinery without using the necessary security elements, people who go out for a walk at night through a dangerous neighborhood, displaying jewelry or a tall cell phone cost, and thus among other things, that indicate that they do not act judiciously, that is, they do not use common sense. And as the phrase says, I think that few people make use of common sense, making it the least common of the senses. What about your use of common sense in your everyday life?

Voltaire was right and I see people using less and less common sense. I try to use common sense, in fact I never had major accidents.

We see this all the time here too. Maybe people have to have a few bad outcomes before they learn to be more careful in their words and actions.

It is so much so that some people, even living very negative experiences due to their irrational actions, do it again.

I can see people not using their common sense at all and they are the first ones to complain when the "bad luck" happens,

@marlina Yes, you are right they call it "bad luck" and they do not understand that this is a consequence of their own actions. Which are things that happen for not having taken the forecasts, in short, for not using common sense.

Some people nowadays are not using their common sense. I have seen a lot like that in your photo in my home country Philippines. It gave me goosebumps seeing a family with a baby sandwich between the parents and their children while driving a motorbike. Scary

I can't get over it, I can't understand how someone can commit such senseless acts, risk the lives of their children in that way.

I found some common sense tips for every day life: 1. You have nothing to lose, and everything to gain. 2. Even when you have everything to lose, act like you don’t. 3. When faced with defeat, rise to your feet. 4.If people tell you that you think too much, tell them they talk too much.

I find it very good advice, if people applied those and some others, we would surely have a better world.
