Do you still wrap your books?

When I was a student long time ago, I used to wrap my books so that they would keep well. And I use the calendar paper to wrap the books and it was environmental. Today it seems it is less important to wrap the books. And it is common for people to buy the plastic book wrapping.

It was a requirement to wrap our books and notebooks in my school days And yes like you I also used old calendars as cover not because it's environmentally friendly but I used it because we couldn't afford to buy manila paper.

When I was a student, actually there was no book wrapping paper and therefore we used the calendar instead.

@youless Actually some calendars are made from very good quality paper. Some are shiny and of thick material so it's perfect as cover for books and notebooks.

I only put adhesive tapes on the edges of the cover.

@youless yes, I do. In fact, the bookstore where I regularly purchase books offer this service for free and they know that when I buy books from them, I will ask them to have it covered.

I do not cover the paperbacks that I buy and the hard cover books always come with a cover. I remember making those paper book covers as a child in school, the brown grocery bags used to be my favorite to use as they were thick and I could draw on them if I wanted to.

Here the books are not usually with a hard cover. I think this is the difference.

Yes in childhood it was mandatory to cover your books and notebooks with a brown paper and a name slip pasted on it. Now a days my kids don't do it.
