May 20th - Morning

United States

Good Morning! This morning I felt a little more excited to go on a walk, but maybe that's because I wanted to get out there before it started to get too hot. Currently it is 75 degrees (23 c) and I think the high will be 83. This was my fourth day of walking the track and then the trail that I like. That keeps me out for about an hour and twenty minutes in total. 20 minutes +/- to get to the rec center, then about that time to get back. So that's about 40 minutes of walking in the rec center itself. What are your plans for today? Me? Crocheting, Reading, Coloring, Online stuff. Did anyone (who watches it) catch Chicago Fire last night?

That's good to get out walking before it gets too hot! Here it is only getting up to 60 degrees. Sounds like a good walk....and glad you like that trail. Today I will be grocery shopping for my grandparents later...otherwise not sure the plans.

I'm glad you had a nice walk. I'm not doing much today. I am going to figure a way to box up another one of my teapots cause a week from this coming Saturday someone is coming to take away the cabinet it is in. (Have to get things ready for our probable move next year.)

I would personally use styrofoam if I had any available and lots of crumpled up newspapers too. Hope you can figure a way to keep it safe! Good luck on the moving process.

@sallypup The tissue paper ought to do it, and I"m sure you'll mark the box so you'l know to be careful. We used to keep styrofoam peanuts here when we needed to pack stuff, but got rid of those years ago.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I wish I had Styrofoam. That's a great idea. I found some old tissue paper, though. I USED to have soft stuff to use like old aprons but a lot of that has been used on other fragile items.

That sounds like an ideal way to spend an afternoon (or whatever time of day it is there). I was exhausted from my walk too. It's far too hot to think about anything but staying inside now.

I walked almost two hours today, I needed to feel the sun on my skin, as I wore my mask I wonder if I will end up looking like a raccoon.

@LadyDuck Oh! I understand that. I rarely pass those who are jogging. Usually I pass people walking with their dogs or their friends.

I don't wear my mask when walking, but I saw a man who had a mask on. He had it lowered as he was talking on the phone. I wondered if maybe he worked at one of the businesses nearby and this is why he was wearing one.

@ScribbledAdNauseum As I crossed some "runners" who pants like old steam trains spreading around their germs, I decided that it was better to wear my mask.

I think next week will be an off week again (for the shows). I won't say a thing about it, but you'll have to let me know what you think once you get a chance to watch it.

I love to crochet but only simple ones. My hands sweat a lot so I have trouble doing the complicated styles and I have heavy hands too lol so I cannot control my grip. In other words I love to crochet but crocheting seemed to dislike me.

It was difficult for me when I first tried to learn. I kept making slip stitches instead of single crochets, and sometimes even the slip stitches were more knots. I taught myself again by watching youtube and by using my fingers before I started using a hook again. There is a ring you can wear that holds the yarn for you, that might help you.

@florelway Powder them before you work, making sure to rid your hands of the powder before you start. It should keep your hands dry enough.

Wow! You have a warm weather . We have only 14C. I went walking with my best friend on the other side of the river bank at the Rhine. It was the first time I have been there and it was beautiful.

That sounds lovely. I want to go go walk around a lake here that has been renovated recently for better walking paths. I just have to convince my friends to come with me.
