Do you trust the media?

Is Journalism missing from your news? Do you believe the media can control people with sensational stories that are only partial truth? Does opinion have a place in news?

The media is biased against patriots in America. I just cannot stomach all of the bad news of alleged racism and sports stars stirring the pot saying police hunt down Blacks.

Media is hyped, so I think ethics of Journalism has changed over the time... I won't judge but I think, yeah we lack real stuff....

I have my own opinion, and it should not be included in the news. I don't trust the media.

No, I don't trust the media at all. I don't think they cover all f the news equally and objectively. I think they cover what they can sensationalize. I would love to see more positive situations or people covered by the media.

I agree with you. The media delivers stories written with bias. They wish to dictate how people should feel.

In journalism there is always someone who defends one side and is against the other side. We can observe a lot about this in the political field.

Journalism is a drying art, very hard to find real anymore. 100% the media controls people without truth. They have 0% creditability to Mike and I. Nope, I do not want to hear the opinions of those whom are suppose to give me the news without their opinion. If they want to talk about their thoughts, then get a show like Dr. Phil and talk away. Otherwise get off the "news" channels. I haven't watched any news in years now. Mike and I decided that there isn't anything they can tell us we can't find for ourselves without a little bit of searching. What are your thoughts about the questions you asked?

I apologize for not responding until now. I didn't see it earlier. Searching many sources is the only way to find the whole story, you're right on that. I believe that the media has blended opinion with reporting. They write stories when they should report news. Bias isn't new, it's just so widespread that Journalism and Journalists are becoming extinct. It's a show now. With plot and script.

For me it is a huge no. Even the news media outlets on "my side" have to be carefully analyzed in order to cut through the bias. The truth is often times found somewhere in the middle, as they say. I think people are less inclined these days to do their own homework, and the media knows this, and use it to tailor their stories accordingly so that the truth can more easily be hidden from the public, and in effect...the media controls the discourse. To the detriment of the American people, unfortunately. As for the news in general, I just want honest reporting of the facts. And if opinion is going to be interjected, it should be clearly displayed as exactly that. Opinion. So that people can better understand the difference between reported fact and opinion.

@porwest Down a narrow path. Five or six people control 95% of all media.

@Vikingswest1 A sad truth. There IS one silver lining, I think, and that is that more people are paying attention. That shows in at least the ratings. More conservative slanted news IS more accurate and fair traditionally (although still biased of course), and it is why they all dominate in the ratings over the more liberal news outlets like CNN and MSNBC.

@Vikingswest1 Journalism is becoming business and where there is business there is no honesty. There might be some honest journalist however they donot reach the wide audience.

I don't really trust the media, they sometimes exaggerate the news just for rating. And also don't like pro-government media.
