We as human being experience fear and we express it in different way. Some of us shout or some of us go absolutely mum some of us wobble seeing something fearful or some of us go nervous, sensing a fear. Fear is a natural, powerful, and primitive human emotion. It involves a biochemical response and a high individual emotional response. Fear alerts us to the presence of danger or the threat of harm, whether that danger is physical or psychological. What are two major fear which troubles you and how do you cope with the fear? Image courtesy - Google

Many of us have fear of heights and it is common. If I am standing on the top of very tall building and I look below, like you I would also feel scared for a while. I also had fear of dark long back and later on it vanished when I realized that there was no ghost in the dark. . I also fear seeing a snake. Though I know that it won't make any harm, until and unless you disturb it.

@CuriousGab It means that you used to fear when you were around 8-9 years old and subsequently the fear vanished.

Bats are generally found in dark and moist, damped and unused closed rooms etc. Normally, we do not see bats in our house. I am wondering what makes you fee afraid of bats? You see it is a common fear that one day we would lose our loved ones. Everyone has this fear and it is understandable.

My worst fear is (and it has always been) being buried alive, I know it is weird, but I always had this fear. I also fear closed spaces, I suffer of claustrophobia.

It is weird that you feel you could get buried alive. It could happen in rare instances such as collapse of a building due to earthquake etc., which generally won't happen in your area. I meant earth quakes may not be of severe intensity in your area. Some people suffer from claustrophobia and I think it is not uncommon. I also feel suffocated in crowded spaces. I remember once we went to see a very famous monument - Taj Mahal. On that particular day there was so much crowd that one cannot imagine. There are graves of the King and his queen in the basement of Taj Mahal. We went there and crowd was more than its capacity. Our guide was explaining the background to us, however, I felt uneasy and I told him that I feel suffocated here, we would go outside and then you could explain it to us.

@LadyDuck Yes, you are right that anything is possible in this world. I understand that structure and shape of catacombs was such that you would have felt suffocated in that and you just came out.

@dpk262006 As you have seen in Miami, a building can collapse even without a earthquake, it could be a structural problem or a terrorist attack. I know what you mean, during a tour in Rome we were visiting the catacombs, but I could not stay down there, I had to go out.

I may not really fear but worry about the uncertainties in the future. I should be able to cope with the consequences of events. Then health is at the back of my mind as I get older; being independent matters a lot to me.

Worrying about future is not fall into category of a fear. We all think, worry and plan about future and it is a natural thing. Worrying about our health is different than fear.
