July 13 - What I'm Thankful for Today

Today has been unusual, to say the least.
I'm thankful I got to the pool this morning. I'm not doing the fitness center right now. My back won't allow the torture. I also did too much walking yesterday, so I am in a lot of pain with my back.
Now for the unusual.
I'm thankful I got to ICS - Housing to get the paperwork for my new apartment. My car had a hiccup when I left. The starter almost didn't start. I'm thankful it did. I decided to go to the store on my way home to grab something for my lunch. I came out and my starter died. I went inside to call my son because of course, I didn't have my phone on me. He was more than an hour from home on an Uber run. I asked him to call his girlfriend. She came.
Now, everyone knows what happens when you take your car to the garage when you have a problem. They can't find anything wrong with it. I decided to try to start the car once more before she would take me home. It worked and I drove home, put the ice cream in the freezer, and walked over to the new apartment complex with the paperwork. I'm so thankful to get the car home where it will stay until I have a new starter.
I called my son when I got back. He's picking me up in the morning to take me to the Y at 5 AM. What a wonderful son I have to crawl out of his nice cozy bed and take me to the pool at that hour of the morning. I told him I could message my friend and let her know I wouldn't be back until further notice. He said NO. He didn't want me to change my routine. We both know that would cause weight gain. Isn't he wonderful? He's also taking me to his place tomorrow so I can get the laundry done.
I'm also thankful for the beautiful dragonfly broach/pendant that arrived in the mail today from a dear myLotter for my birthday. Thank you so much @kobesbuddy. It's beautiful. I love it.

The problem with a starter, it can hit and miss at times, before it actually breaks. I had this happen, you never know when the silly thing will give problems! You are very welcome, Valerie

I am glad you were able to get your car home. Hope the starter will be an easy fix for you. That is a lovely dragonfly broach from @Kobesbuddy. I am glad your son is able to keep you on track at the Y

Sorry to hear about your car's issues...that can be scary and frustrating. That's so sweet of him to to do that for you! And she sent a very pretty dragonfly....that's awesome!

@just4him No problem...and I understand the car issues; had plenty of them with our car. Had to get two tires replaced and then an alignment done this month on ours.
But I agree about the jewelry...it looks very lovely

Lucky you getting that beautiful pendant! Pendants are my favorite jewelry. You surely have a very attentive and loving son. I hope your car will be alright for you. Cars can be such a nuisance when they break down. We depend on them so much. Today I am thankful for my own son.
