Fighting for the lungs.

Well, it is not really a positive covid, no, but it is related to those who are suffering at the moment. In my community there is no environmental awareness. Many neighbors complain of trash burning in their backyards. But the reality is that nobody does anything to prevent it. I know neighbors who suffer from covid and respiratory problems, and it is unfair that by burning garbage at night all that smoke enters our houses. Has something like this happened?

We experience the same thing here. Despite thrash being collected every morning by local government staff, people resort to burning of thrash causing lot of inconvenience and irritation to neighbours. Nobody complains about it to avoid bad relations with neighbors.

Today I pass the garbage truck after a full month. We cannot literally "eat" garbage, but governments seem to be ignoring it. It is a serious problem for those of us who have children and adults.

It is incredible, we should be progressing in the middle of the century and it is not like that.

@Butterfingers I would like to be optimistic about this situation, but with the covid it seems that it is here to stay for many years

some people know the environmental and health damage they promote with this practice. But they prefer to ignore it.

Yes, we should not burn garbage at our personal yard as this should be done properly in the incinerator.

You meant the three times a week is not consistent? For an example, it is suppose to be Monday, Thursday, Sunday but they do not come during this time but some other days like Tuesday on some week and Wednesday on others?

@id_peace As a rule, the garbage truck should pass 3 days a week, instead, it has been passing only once a month for many years. Can you imagine what to do with a month's trash? It's too much.

The problem is that in my country urban cleaning is not constant, it should happen every 3 times a week and the garbage truck does not comply. Although that does not prevent peraonas from looking for other alternatives.

You can burn trash here in a burn barrel. I just put my trash out for the trash man every week.

You have to have a social and human conscience, what you do is responsible, but many people do not measure themselves in consequences. Sometimes it is early morning and I am awakened by the smell of smoke in my room. It's awful.

Most would burn their trash here. But since almost everyone got their own yard, it's pretty far to be suffocated by the smoke. But it still annoying nonetheless.

In various environmental talks that take place here, it is said that the smoke, although imperceptible to the smell of the nose, also reaches the lungs. You have to take good care of yourself.

Being in flats you are not allowed to burn anything anyway. There are the odd forest fires but mainly a lot is done now to keep the long grass short during this time too as its very hot here at the moment. Stay safe and well all you can.

Yes it happens here too sometimes. It's really bad to see people doing this as it creates air pollution which is bad for the health of the people.

So this responsibility is of local government of your area...gather people of your community being their leader and go to that person who is ruling right now...

The mayor himself has been on the news talking about the issue, saying that now less than ever with the pandemic we must burn garbage. So if people call the police to report this, the police never arrive at the complaint site. Everything is hypocrisy
