Shattered

Yes, shattered is the condition of one of my 9x13 glass baking dishes. I was going to make Rice Krispy treats in it, but knowck it off the top of my stove. It hit my tile floor. That was it. It must be made of some safety type glass, as the shards were not sharp. Oh, and this morning I dropped a glass in the sink, and of course it broke. I am working on thinning out my kitchen ware, one piece at a time. I got out another pan, made the treats. Put peanut butter in them and melted peanut butter and chocolate to put over the top. I sampled so much last night that it does not even sound good today. I think I am ready to go have something savory, like hummus, and a cheesy tortilla. I hope your day does not leave you shattered.

I had one drinking glass broken today when a cat jumped into it.

I break more here than I have ever done elsewhere. The floors in this house are tile in the kitchen.

@BarBaraPrz no, he wasn't. Cats are indifferent they don't show any emotions.

This was one of my favorites or at least I used it most often. I do have others. I have lots of pyrex, even storage containers.

"I am working on thinning out my kitchen ware, one piece at a time." But I don't think that is the most efficient way of going about it. Could be dangerous, too. I don't think I've ever had rice krispie squares made with peanut butter.. I prefer them in their natural state.

I try to increase the protein in mine. They seem a little bland to me, but an awful good way to eat sugar.

@BarBaraPrz Smooth. 1/2 C to the recipe. Then I melted chocolate candy coating with 1 T butter and about 1/4 C peanut butter and frosted them. Way too much sugar, but I did it anyway. At least hubby will help me eat them.

It would have hurt, it was a heavy one, but it might not have broken.

I'm sorry for your loss. Last week I broke the last of a set of vintage water glasses. One less thing to pack, I guess.

@GardenGerty I do. I cried when I broke a Pyrex mixing bowl. That happened a few years ago and I still think about that bowl.

I hope no shard leave behind. I would still find a small piece of shard from something that's broken months ago sometimes.

I have done that as well and that is why I mopped. I bet there still may be some somewhere though.

I've dropped and broken glass things and it's always a mess to clean up. I'm always worried about stepping on a piece of glass.

I often either use the shop vac or mop after, but that glass hides everywhere.

@GardenGerty you're right about that. You can still find little pieces even after a good vacuuming

Very frustrating as it made a huge mess of glass pieces.

I guess if you use your kitchen you take those chances.
