This was a particularly hard weekend for me. Al was asking to go home and it brought me to tears because I want to go home too. It is not because we aren't comfortable, we are. Kasey went to a lot of effort to make her home comfortable for us.
But it is still her house not our house and I want to be home. I love my home and I have all my things there and we had our wonderful life there. I know its not realistic to want to go home but I tar up when I think about it.
Anyway, my one pair of Snoozies that I brought here with me has worn through on the bottom so I had to order another pair. I have lots of these but it took me a while to find the right ones and when I saw them, I knew they were perfect.
Because at the end of the day the saying is perfect."Home is where your honey is"!!

My husband is ill and I can't care for him alone so we are staying at our daughters, We still have our home but it is in another town.

@BelleStarr Our neighbor arranged for home health care. They sent an aide, every single day.

He can't walk at all, I need Christian to help get him to the commode and to get him to the Jerry chair. He has lost his sense of where his body is compared to his feet. No balance whatsoever. But it seems to be improving.

@kobesbuddy No, I know that all too well, just a couple of days ago I tried to help him get up and both of us ended on the floor. Not good and I had to take the lecturing from everyone about not trying that alone.

Al can’t walk and I am not strong enough to move him alone. He can’t even stand and pivot. But he is getting stronger

I do try and make an effort to have an attitude of gratitude but sometimes the sadness at the loss overwhelms me. But I am fine today, I just needed to cry for all I have lost.

Oh, Belle, my heart just breaks for you both. It means the world when our family takes such good care of us and loves us, but it's just not home. It's not being ungrateful to miss being in your own home with all your things right where you want them. I totally understand. I'll keep praying that God will continue to heal Al and give you strength every day. I know He will.

@BelleStarr I enjoy when we travel, but there's nothing like sitting in my own recliner with my feet up. And sleeping in my own bed. I pray you and Al will soon be back home.

@BelleStarr I understand very well. Years ago, we had to spend 2 months in my Mom's apartment while they were working in our apartment. I liked to be with my mother, but it was not like home.

Thank you, yes we are very comfortable but of course, it's not our home so no matter how nice it is, I would rather be home.

I just miss having my own life where I don;t need to rely on anyone being dependent is not easy.
