Staggering Statistics Hits America Again.

I was tuning in to the horror that is our Cebu, an island right at the heart of our archipelago, where hospitals are filled to the brim and patients wait in line inside their cars, with oxygen tanks as conduit to life itself. Furious the local health officials and the Cebuanos allowed the grim scenario to happen. Cautionary tales had been reiterated time and again, and they chose to be promiscuous? Duh! Or Grrrr! That just extended the year and a half old pandemia to a longer period of suffering and pain. And as if a deja vu, the United States is being hit hard as the tally of cases reaches an astonishing hundred thousand yesterday! News reports shows a young boy peeping through the glass, smiling and waving to his hapless father inflicted with CoViD-19. The 31 year old 'dad' didn't avail of the vaccine because he believed the pandemia a hoax! I dare not surmise what that kid has in his young mind. A desperate reminder again to our people, the Americans, and to all citizens of every nation, that failure to recognize the truth means a nation is in peril. Since this is a pandemia, for sure, the human race is definitely in peril.

Some countries will never get on top of the virus now until they can get everyone vaccinated.

The USA has the vaccine. The people refuse to get inoculated. The Philippines has scarcity of vaccine supply. The people clamor for jabs The pandemia will linger longer.

@RasmaSandra I never had the flu shot also but right now, I have a vial in my refrigerator. My daughter purchased one for me. Told her I am not susceptible to flu but she said it's a precautionary measure this pandemic time. So, she'd inject the jab when she comes home next week. According to our Department of Health advisory, the delta variant infects within seconds of exposure, not minutes as previously advised. Please keep extra careful when people come near you. Wear a double mask always and sanitize hands soon after you touch something from the outside. The pandemia is truly stressful. Try your very best to shove off anxiety. Meditative prayers help. Let each passing day be a blessing. May the holy angels surround you and keep you safe.

Expressed my worries about comorbidity and the vaccine to my daughter. She said that all the vaccine does is to alert the body's immune response to the virus. That means we have a fighting chance of repelling the virus. The CoViD-19 disease is here to stay forever. It will never go away. Worse, the novel coronavirus has mutated into a more infectious contagion - the Delta Variant. A person could be ill within minutes of exposure to this variant. It is prudence in the side of caution to respect everybody's decision to avail or not of the vaccine. But if one doesn't, that would mean hermitage the rest of one's life. With the vaccine, we can live life anew.

It's not that bad here in California. We have a good Governor and (mostly) responsible people.

Not privy to your governor but I saw footages of the homeless. I will tend to agree on 'responsible people' because my siblings and relatives and friends are there. A few in the frontline, including my brother. Take care another surge won't happen. And if California can, be a model to all the other stubborn states. Is LouStuhl your real name? If so, glad you have discarded the pseudonym.

Some people do not trust the media in the U S due to their image of being bad news parrots.

Yes, those idiots told people not to wear the mask because they are vaccinated. Couldn't tell who was and wasnt. The people who don't want the mask walked around without vaccination and went into large crowds. Impatient people. They need to follow the guidelines!!

@db20747 Nevertheless, everyone should encourage the vaccination because it's the only thing that can stem the transmission of the disease.

I am soory to say that mankind can not wipe out COVID-19 in a short time. This is a dual test of physical and mental conditions, which requires us to take it seriously. Wish you guys the best.

If COVID doesn't get you, something else will. What this pandemic has pretty much tought us, is when you focus too much on one thing, you forget everything else around you.

The CoViD-19 has been likened to a war. You mean if the enemies don't get you, your own will? Please advise. What exactly did the pandemia hypnotize you with that you didn't notice everything else?

@eileenleyva When you stop and really think about it. Ever since COVID hit, everyone started scrambling to try to protect themselves or slow the spread. We've stopped living, for fear of getting other people sick. The virus spreads just like any other virus and is in the same family as the common cold. Instead of going on with our lives, we've allowed fear-mongering to stop us in our tracks. You have officals telling you to do the same thing your parents have been trying to tell you. Wash your hands, wash commonly used surfaces, avoid contact with people IF you're sick and stay home. Cases of the Flu went down, because people were staying home, yet numbers of COVID cases continue to rise because people are NOT staying home? What the actual F? really? If you look up the adverage population of any given country, and compare it to the number of cases over the past 15 months or so.... you would soon realize there are far more cases then there people. How do you think this is possible? Every test is considered a case. You have people getting tested frequently causing the case numbers to rise.
