I have talked about my friend in another state, Dustin's godparents. Her husband has bone cancer. He has been on hospice care a few weeks now, at home.
He seems to be doing as well as he can. He eats and can sit up for short periods of time. That is about all he can do. But she is glad he is at home.
She called me earlier to talk awhile. I mainly listened as she vented. Family issues. Always seems like there are family issues. Too bad anyone has to deal with drama any time, but especially when your loved one is on hospice.
I told her I no longer deal with drama, no matter who are what the situation. She has come to the same conclusion. Their situation is a day to day ordeal. Nurses and aides in and out every day. But they are both thankful he is home. That makes me happy as well.
Feels good to feel like you have helped in some small way, even though you are hundreds of miles away.

There is a time to talk and a time to listen. Many times, people listen to respond. A good friend will listen to hear.
I'm happy you were there for her.

i know my wife, one of those people in and out, always makes sure to check on the spouse of the patient. It is hard on the other person when their partner is not going to be around much longer.

I'm sorry to hear about your friends husband. She must be going through a very difficult time especially with the nurses an aides coming in and out. Sometimes the best things we can do for a friend is listen.

The LAST thing someone needs when a loved one is terminally ill is drama from the family. Glad you could provide a shoulder for her.
