Hi guys,
Hope you all are doing good. I am doing good too. I am a Parsi by religion. We follow Zorastrianism. Since 6th August, our holy prayer days have started.
Our festival of Navroze ie. Parsi New Year will be coming in few weeks. The holy prayer days significance is that the souls which have left us, for them the prayers are recited by our priests. The first five days are called Muktad.
We go in the morning around 9am for prayers. After the prayers, the prasad which we call as "Chasni" is distributed among closed ones. It contains one sweet known as Malido, then there is Puri, small rotis and fruits.
Again at 11am, I go for the prayers as at that time the lunch is kept for departed souls after prayers.
In the afternoon, around 4pm, my brother goes to the temple. Prayers are recited again and dinner is kept for departed souls after prayers.
After 5 days, the other 5 days are called Gathas. Those are more holy and pious days for us. On the 11th day, comes the festival of Pateti and New Year after a day. I will let you know later on about it.
I thought to share it with you guys for giving a glimpse into our religion. Have a good day. Take care!!!

Yes thank you very much for sharing. I only know about Parsi and it's sacred book Zend-Avesta from children social studies textbook but not in detail like you narrate here. And since no Parsi religion here at my place I am not familiar at all. Now I know lots and may be when I return to school I will have lots to share about your Parsi religion to the students.
