Spent Too Long Outside

Was outside working on another project in the garden. A breeze was blowing. I knew it was hot. Feels like temperature is in the triple digits actually. I did not plan to be out so long. I thought I was going to pass out from the heat. As I was walking to the deck to come inside, it hit me. I felt dizzy and nauseated and a bad headache all at once. Made it inside and got some cold water. Sat down with a cool cloth on my forehead. Feeling better now. You have to be so careful in this heat. Photo is mine.

Holy cow that sounds like a heat stroke. I hope you're ok but if I were you I'd head for a doctor just in case.

Heat stroke happens to lots of people out this way and I still think a checkup wouldn't hurt just in case. When you said you were nauseated along with dizzy it really sounded serious.

@rebelann I know. I talked about my neighbor a few months ago that came close and I have lectured him all the time. I just was so into the butterflies. It passed quickly thankfully.

It really scared me but I am feeling better. It does sneak up on you when you get busy. I need to take the same advice I always give my neighbor.

By CarolDM @CarolDM You are right you have to be careful in the heat not to overdo it. Smart thinking on your part when you got inside what to do. I am glad you felt better after you did what you did to take care of yourself.

This heat can certainly creep up on you. It's like when I was sitting on the beach in Cape San Blas. I was COOKING and did not realize it until the next day. Ugh. Hopefully most of it will turn into a tan. lol

@CarolDM Something about that Florida sun. Always more intense there for some reason, which is weird to me, because it's the same sun here in Illinois. lol

@porwest Coming from the gulf makes it intense. And the salt water makes you burn faster too.

I didn’t know I’d make it from my car to the house putting the groceries up! This humidity is so stifling to me with my asthma. Short report: no golf tomorrow night unless they’re very wrong about the forecast….or unless they move the course to an air-conditioned building in the next 23 hours. You stay safe, ya hear?????

@CarolDM — one of the other players is pretty sure there won’t even be a tournament tonight, given that the heat advisory runs until 9 PM (and we start at 7).

I have heard that drinking cold water while you are real hot is the worst thing you can do.I have heard that it will put your body in shock and can hurt you.
