An accident

Today I went for a walk in an area I don't know that well. I saw a lot of candles and flowers in front of a brand new fence. It looked like a place where someone died, but I hadn't heard of any accidents in that area, so I decided to look it up on the internet when I got back to my home.
I found the article straight away. A man fell from the cliff. There are about 20 meters between the cliff and the beach. It happened in July this year. A woman went for a walk and she noticed a bike and a bag next to the cliff. There were no people around, and she found it strange so she called the emergency number. When they arrived they found the man on the beach. The fall from the cliff had killed him, but one knows how the accident happened.
The fence looked brand new and I don't think there was a fence in the past. Maybe he wanted to take photos or just enjoy the view and ended up falling from the cliff. I didn't know him, but it made me sad to read about the accident.

People tend to be to careless for their own good sometimes. Often we need to protect them from themselves.

Hoping no one else meets a fatal accident in that area.

I also hope that it won't happen again. It is safe to walk on the walking path, but it is dangerous to leave the path. Now people have to stand in front of the fence if they want to take photos or enjoy the view.

Hopefully, the fence would be enough of a deterrent to prevent such accidents.
